Autistic kids “obsess” over screen technology

Although not much of a surprise to anyone who has observed kids with ASD, a new study from the University of Missouri, reported in PsychCentral documents the extent of the problem as a preferred activity for these children, and the harm it can do to any sort of academic, social, behavioural and attentional interventions that are introduced. The suggestion is made that future studies need to look at how to use screen technology to enhance appropriate learning for ASD kids, since eliminating it isn’t likely to happen.
