Are teens actually behaving better now than 30 years ago?

An article in the New York Times looks at studies of risk taking behaviours in teens in the 1980s and today, and the differences are really surprising.  Rather than seeing increases in these behaviours, there is a general decline in almost all risky behaviours.  There’s some speculation as to why this is.  What do you think?
