Sports concussions – Canadian information

An article in this morning’s Globe and Mail presents information from a University of Montreal study on the impact of concussion on the developing brain.  Of the 3 groups studied (all male in this study), teen aged boys had considerably more difficulty with working memory tasks than did younger and older people who had experienced a concussion.  The article also makes reference to a Sports Concussion Library developed by a physician at the University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital.  Check it out – it is an excellent resource, and the video “Concussion 101” is an excellent teaching too.
