Girls’ depression rates tripled

A new report from SAMHSA, reported in Behavioral Healthcare , suggests that the rate of depression in teen girls is triple the rate of depression in teenage boys.   Older teen girls may receive mental health intervention, but younger girls are less likely to have that care.  The need for early identification and intervention are noted – again, a key role for school psychologists!  The link to the full report is at the end of the article.
