Autism and its co-morbid conditions

A new study, reported in PsychCentral,  has found that Autism in children and teens is often accompanied by anxiety, extreme sensory problems,  and gastrointestinal upsets.  However, the autistic student may not be able to express these problems, only act out the impact of them.  Parents and those working with Autistic students are cautioned to be aware of these possible conditions and make appropriate referrals and interventions when they suspect they may be causing additional problems to the student.
