Stress takes its toll on teens too

An article in the Globe and Mail provides an overview of longitudinal research lead by McGill researcher Nancy Heath, a member of the Canadian Journal of School Psychology editorial board who has also published in CJSP, on the impact of stress on teens when they move from elementary to high school.  Clearly change is stressful, and the better prepared students are to make those transitions, the better they will cope.  Stress management sessions are effective, they found.  Another prevention job for school psychologists!

Perhaps it should be noted that the lead researcher at McGill, Nancy Heath, is on our CJSP editorial board and has published with us.
