Early indicators of later school drop-outs identified

The Montgomery County, Maryland School Board is developing indicators that, within the first three years of school, will predict later drop-outs in students. The measures, which are simply and teacher/parent friendly, are reported in today’s  Education Week.  Interestingly, only about 50% of those identified in grade 1 actually drop our by grade 6,  The question is, are these false positives or are early interventions being effectively implemented.
