Girls’ mental health issues and likelihood of teen pregnancy

New Canadian research, reported in today’s Globe and Mail and published in Pediatrics, finds that girls with mental health problems are more likely to get pregnant early.  The subsequent consequences for both mother’s health and the child’s mental and physical development are very real.  The authors suggest this is a serious red flag, calling for schools to provide more and better sexual health education.
