Tackling test anxiety may generalize to other problem areas

In a new study in the journal Prevention Science and reported in PsychCentral, researchers from the University of New Orleans found that teaching kids to overcome a common school problem, test anxiety, helped them to learn techniques to handle of areas of worry.  It makes sense to target a problem that most kids can identify to teach them self-management skills in a normal group environment rather than pathologizing the anxiety.
