Playing school sports improves kids’ mental health

New research from the University of Toronto, reported on the Center for Advancing Health website and published in the Journal of Adolescent Health has found a positive, and lasting, relationship between improved mental health and involvement in school sports.  Not surprising, given the importance we recognize of exercise in maintaining health, but the key to school sports seems to be the social aspects as well.
