Exercise is good for both mind and body

Although not news to most of us, the data are starting to mount up that exercise improves physical, cognitive and mental health, in kids as well as in adults.  Two recent articles, one in the Globe and Mail, and the other in philly.com, exercise is related to  reduction of depressive symptoms in teens and to cognitive improvements in school aged children.  At a time when kids are reportedly spending more screen time than field time, these are important considerations, especially for schools, where recess and phys.ed. classes are often being cut back.
