Effective suicide prevention programs for teens

A new study from Sweden, reported in the Globe and Mail, found that a program teaching teens about signs of depression and how to help was more effective in reducing the number of suicides than programs aimed at teacher education or mental health screening programs.  It certainly makes sense, and we have programs of the sort described in Canada.  Let’s hope they are being used.
