How to tell if “apps” are educationally valuable or not for kids

New research appearing in Psychological Science in the Public Interest, a journal of the Association of Psychological Science and reported in EurekAlert, looks at factors which add to the educational value of apps for children and those which are just distracting.  A link to the original paper, available free, is included at the bottom of the article.  This might be useful information to share with parents and teachers.
