Cognitive problems continue to worsen into adulthood in autism

A new study published in the June issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and reported in EurekAlert, looked at brain changes in persons with autism beyond adolescence.  This unique longitudinal study found that abnormal developmental trajectories in the brain continue to be noted as the individual ages, resulting in greater executive function problems.
