Teen smokers have self-esteem, body-image problems

New research from Concordia University, reported in EurekAlert, suggests that teens who take up smoking do so because of low self-esteem and body image problems.  Seeing the smoking as a symptom, interventions directed at building positive self-image are recommended.  Good information for school psychologists who might not see smoking as a symptom of deeper problems.
