“Autism” is not a single disorder at all

An article in Spectrum looks at the myriad of genetic variations that result in the behavioral diagnosis of “autism”.  The authors  suggest that considerably more work needs to be done to refine the definition so that appropriate interventions can be recommended.  The website also provides a wealth of information about current autism research, for those who are interested in looking further into it.
