Linking maternal antidepressant use and autism

A new study from the University of Montreal, cited in EurekAlert, has found a positive link between maternal use of antidepressants in pregnancy and the likelihood of a child being diagnosed with autism by age 7.  Given the high incidence of depression in the adult population, this is very important information which might explain some of the increase in the incidence of autism diagnoses.
