More on ADHD and how parents/teachers address it

Two recent articles look at the relationship between parental attitudes towards ADHD and symptoms demonstrated by the child.  One study from Florida International University, cited in PsychCentral, looked at parents’ negativity towards symptoms and the likelihood of symptoms diminishing at latency age.  The other, an interview with Ned Hollowell in the Washington Post, looks at ADHD as less a “disorder” and more as a “gift”, depending on how the symptoms are treated by parents and teachers.  Admittedly, ADHD can make life very difficult for some, but if the symptoms are well-channeled, they can lead to a very productive life.  What is  your attitude towards those with ADHD symptoms?
