What is “resiliency”?

An interesting article in The New Yorker presents a number of perspectives on the concept of resiliency and how our understanding of it as a quality has evolved over the years.  The article is fascinating, and fortunately, the bottom line, at least as far as our understanding of the concept today, is that although resiliency can fluctuate, but also can be taught.
