Is violence contagious among teens?

A new study from the Ohio State University, cited in EurekAlert, looked at the likelihood of a youth becoming violent based on the number of close friends or acquaintances who have engaged in violence.  It seems that there is a proportional relationship between the number of friends involved in acts of violence and the likelihood that more violence will follow among peers.  An argument for establishing prevention methods and safe schools and community environments can certainly be made.
